your lips
that wax all my heartstrings
like vasoline /
some viscous things
you're a nice dress on
a summer nighttime patio
you're songs i forgot that i love
you're silk or velvet
depending on the weather
i feel you rise
& fall and rise
i catch my breath
& catch yours too
that wax all my heartstrings
like vasoline /
some viscous things
you're a nice dress on
a summer nighttime patio
you're songs i forgot that i love
you're silk or velvet
depending on the weather
i feel you rise
& fall and rise
i catch my breath
& catch yours too

Fly
Fly
There is a blessed feeling,
That really sends me reeling,
Sends me high up in the sky...
I am never coming down,
I only want to drown,
Deeper in this delight...
You make me fly...!
An unbelievable sensation,
Sends my pulse to racin,
And I don't even have to try...
You are much more than a distraction,
You always get a reaction,
You bring light unto my life...
You make me fly...!
A once naughty temptation,
Brings me such elation,
That sometimes I want to cry...
Every new day I am greeting,
A love that is not fleeting,
You get me high...
You make me fly...!

You, Me, and the Fireflies
There's a stable that holds consistency and horses
and men who don't know the difference.
There are fireflies- nature's dusk, flashlights,
and men who put them in jars.
Like how they think every person is a star.
We are not stars. We are people.
Do not mistake us for being brighter than we are.
Don't put light on our faces and say "look how bright she shines!"
Shining does not make a creature divine.
We are made in the image of who?
So why do we personify the things we are not.
Stars get names.
Babies get names.
Take the sky for what she is, and she will take you for what you are.
How would the world be if winter storms said,
"
Literature
... in you
your eyes are like lighthouses
leading me home in rough waters
my rough hands are like rudders
steering your face directly to mine
your lips are like the welcoming dock
where I settle in and tie down to wait out
the storm of emotions that pours down
like a monsoon on the deck of a ship
and I cry tears of joy and bask in happiness
as I have found shelter and safe harbor
